Cola Share Final Cost Of Living Adjustment Single “Haveluck Country” Ahead of Friday Release

Cola have released “Haveluck Country,” the final single from Cost Of Living Adjustment, out 5/8 via Fire Talk. The new track follows three earlier singles and arrives with a video directed by Camille Anais Semprez and Cedar Teionietathe Jocks.

Montreal post-punk trio Cola have released “Haveluck Country,” the final single from their upcoming album Cost Of Living Adjustment, due Friday, 5/8, via Fire Talk.

The track follows earlier singles “Hedgesitting,” “Conflagration Mindset,” and “Skywriter’s Sky,” giving listeners a broad preview of the record before release. On “Haveluck Country,” the band shifts into a mellower, springy groove while keeping their clipped guitar style in place.

Tim Darcy frames the song around inequality and chance, singing, “In the haveluck country/ In the haveluck times,” before adding, “Oh it’s painfully serene/ Crime without a payoff/ What if it was all a dream?/ Vivid luck.”

The single arrives with a new video directed by Camille Anais Semprez and Cedar Teionietathe Jocks.

Cost Of Living Adjustment is out 5/8 on Fire Talk and is available to pre-order now.
