Freya Skye’s “Silent Treatment” has become her breakout solo hit, reaching Pop Airplay’s top tier and the Billboard Hot 100 as she balances a growing pop career with Disney projects, touring, and fan-focused ticketing policies.

Freya Skye’s rise has accelerated quickly. The 16-year-old U.K. singer, who represented Britain at Junior Eurovision in 2022, is now charting with her solo single “Silent Treatment” while continuing her work inside Disney’s franchise machine.
Skye says the song began as an unfinished draft in May 2025 with songwriters Sophie Simmons and Max Margolis. “We didn’t feel like we’d nailed it,” she says. The team paused the track, then returned to it in September after what she describes as a fresh burst of inspiration. “We rewrote the whole song, took everything we had before and pieced it all together.”
In between those sessions, Skye made her film debut as Nova Bright in Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, released in July 2025. The project expanded her audience and led into the 43-date Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour, where she performed in North American arenas including Madison Square Garden.
Signed to Hollywood Records in 2024, Skye pushed for a fast release of “Silent Treatment,” which arrived in early December. Days later, she performed on select dates of the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour. She says initial nerves gave way once the crowd started singing along: “The song’s been out for three days.”
The single has since reached No. 14 on Pop Airplay and gave her a Billboard Hot 100 debut in April. Skye says the chart entry felt surreal, especially seeing her name alongside artists she grew up hearing at home.
A vocal Taylor Swift fan, Skye points to strong bridge writing as a pop essential, and “Silent Treatment” leans into that approach with its sharp emotional turn and sing-along phrasing. She frames the song’s appeal as emotional whiplash familiar to young listeners: hurt, release, and momentum in one track.
Manager Nick Bobetsky, whose past work includes Chappell Roan, says Skye’s audience is highly active online and not casual in its support. He adds that while Disney remains a major exposure engine, the team is focused on building a stand-alone artist identity beyond franchise visibility.
Skye is currently filming Zombies 5 in New Zealand, with release set for 2027. She says she expected a traditional Disney-to-pop handoff, but instead is building both careers at once.
After filming, she resumes the Stars Align Tour, tied to her February Stardust EP, with 40 more dates across Australia, the U.S., and the U.K. She has also spoken publicly about ticket access after seeing resale prices spike on earlier acoustic shows. Her team has used Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange and separate VIP upgrades to reduce bot-driven resale pressure and keep base prices lower for younger fans.
Despite rapid gains, Skye says she still sees discovery as the goal. “It’s one of my favorite things when I see someone saying, ‘Who is she?’” she says. “There’s so many more people I have the opportunity to reach.”
