ASCAP announced winners for the 2026 ASCAP Latin Music Awards at an invite-only ceremony in Miami on May 5. The organization honored songwriters, publishers and composers across urban and regional Latin charts.
Keityn was named songwriter of the year for the third time. The Colombian writer was cited for recent credits including Karol G and Marco Antonio Solís’ “Coleccionando Heridas,” Maluma’s “Cosas Pendientes,” Feid’s “Doblexxó” and Nicky Jam and Beéle’s “Hiekka.”
Romeo Santos received the ASCAP Latin songwriter-artist of the year award. The nomination list that supported his win included “Ángel” (with Grupo Frontera), “Desde Hoy” (performed by Natti Natasha) and “Khé” (with Rauw Alejandro).
The ASCAP Latin Song of the Year award went to “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” performed by Karol G and written by ASCAP songwriter Rios. The track was published by Capital Music Puerto Rico LLC and Kobalt Music Publishing. It spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and returned to the top 10 after Karol G’s Coachella set.
Daddy Yankee added two awards, bringing his ASCAP Latin total to 64. The honors were for “Sonríele” and “Latina Foreva,” the latter performed by Karol G. Daddy Yankee has received recognition at every ASCAP Latin Awards ceremony since 2005.
On the publishing side, Universal Music Publishing Group was named Latin music publisher of the year for a fourth consecutive year. ASCAP credited the company’s catalog and recent placements with artists including Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro.
Other honorees highlighted by ASCAP included Julito Gastón, who received his first recognition for co-writing Bad Bunny’s global hit “Baile Inolvidable” with Antonio Caraballo. Additional winners cited were Feid (“Doblexxó,” “Háblame Claro,” “Verano Rosa”); Xavi (“En Privado,” “Flores”); Natanael Cano (“PRESIDENTE”); Tito El Bambino (“EoO”); and Danny Ocean (“Imagínate”).
ASCAP published the full list of winners on its website following the ceremony.
