In the sketch, Jagger delivers lines laced with Rolling Stones lyrics while holding aloft mannequin arms. Early in the bit he says, “Pleased to meet you, I hope you guess my name.” He also wears a nametag.

Jagger, 82, is currently preparing a new Rolling Stones studio album. The band’s 25th album, Foreign Tongues, is due out July 10 and features the core trio of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood alongside guest contributions from Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith and Chad Smith.

Foreign Tongues follows 2023’s Hackney Diamonds, the Stones’ first album in nearly 20 years. Hackney Diamonds reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart. It also won the Grammy Award for best rock album.

So far the band has released two tracks from the new project: album opener “Rough and Twisted” and lead single “In the Stars.” According to promotional material, the full album was completed in less than a month at Metropolis Studios in West London. A new trailer shows the trio recording and hanging out in the studio, with Andrew Watt returning as producer.

Jagger’s interest in performance extends beyond music. His film credits include playing the titular bushranger in 1970’s Ned Kelly and a role in 1992’s Freejack. He was also cast in Werner Herzog’s 1982 project Fitzcarraldo, a role he did not complete because of commitments with the band.

Keith Richards is scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show on Thursday, May 7.
