L7 announced on Thursday, May 7, that they will launch a 27-date North American farewell run called The Last Hurrah Tour. The trek begins June 4 in Toronto and concludes Nov. 14 in Los Angeles, with stops in Seattle, New York City, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Chicago and other cities.

“When L7 decided to release a documentary in 2015, we thought maybe we would take one last victory lap around the sun by playing some shows,” frontwoman Donita Sparks said in a statement, referring to the 2016 documentary Pretend We’re Dead. “Instead, that lap turned into 11 more years of touring, sweat, new music and reconnecting with the fans who made this all possible in the first place.”
“Looking out into the crowd seeing longtime supporters rocking out next to a new generation of L7 fans has been the most powerful and humbling part of this chapter,” Sparks added. “We are deeply grateful and ready to give our audiences one last, loud, fun and hopefully unforgettable night of rock and roll.”
The Last Hurrah Tour covers 27 dates across the United States and Canada. It launches June 4 in Toronto and wraps Nov. 14 in Los Angeles.
L7 formed in Los Angeles in 1985. Their self-titled debut arrived three years later. The bands third studio album, Bricks Are Heavy, was released in 1992 and peaked at No. 160 on the Billboard 200 in September of that year. Hungry for Stink (1994) reached No. 117, and The Beauty Process: Triple Platinum (1997) peaked at No. 172.
Singles from that period also found chart traction. “Pretend We’re Dead” reached No. 8 on the Alternative Airplay chart, while “Andres” from Hungry for Stink hit No. 20.
Several L7 tracks appeared on film soundtracks. “Shitlist” was included on the Pet Semetary 2 and Natural Born Killers soundtracks. “Shove” appeared on the Tank Girl soundtrack.
