Barry Manilow Issues “Another Life – 2026” Ahead of June 5 Album What a Time

Barry Manilow releases "Another Life 6 2026" as the final preview of What a Time, due June 5; first public appearance since lung cancer surgery was April 23.

Today Barry Manilow releases Another Life 6 2026, a new version of a 1992 album track and the final preview from his forthcoming album What a Time, due June 5.

The remake was co-written by Andrew Hill and Preston Sturges and arranged by Manilow with longtime collaborator Michael Lloyd. The 2026 recording preserves the originals wistful core while amplifying its sense of nostalgia. Manilow was in his late 40s when he first recorded the song; he is now in his 80s and has faced a serious health challenge, a context the new version engages.

Manilow originally recorded “Another Life” for his 1992 box set The Complete Collection and Then Some… The track was not issued as an official single, but as an album cut it reached No. 33 on Billboards Adult Contemporary chart.

The new single follows Manilows first public appearance since undergoing surgery for lung cancer. On April 23 he accepted the Presidents Award at the American Advertising Federations Hall of Fame gala in New York City, where the honor recognized his advertising work that preceded his recording career.

What a Time is Manilows 33rd studio album and his first collection of nearly all-original material since 2011s 15 Minutes, which debuted and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. The albums lead single, “Once Before I Go,” reached No. 25 on Billboards Adult Contemporary chart in February. That run extends a streak: this is the sixth consecutive decade in which Manilow has had multiple top 30 hits on that chart, a stretch that began in November 1974 with “Mandy.” “Mandy” reached No. 1 on both Easy Listening and the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year.

The new album collects an eclectic set of collaborators. Contributors include 12-time Grammy winner Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and nine-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb, alongside Manilows longtime co-writers Bruce Sussman and Adrienne Anderson.

In early 1976, Arista Records president Clive Davis, looking to spotlight Manilows Grammy nomination, conceived a Grammy party that evolved into an annual gala still held today.

Manilow plans to tour throughout 2026 after his recovery is complete. For upcoming dates, visit Manilows website.
