Sam Fender and Olivia Dean‘s duet “Rein Me In” has spent a 10th non-consecutive week at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart dated May 8.

The song first appeared on Fender’s 2025 album People Watching. It was remixed in June last year with a new verse from Dean. It reached No. 1 in February 2026 and later won song of the year at the BRIT Awards.
On May 1, Dean invited Fender to two of her sold-out shows at London’s 20,000-capacity O2 Arena to perform the song live. Before that, the pair had only performed “Rein Me In” together once, at Fender’s London Stadium show in June last year.
The track is now tied with Rihanna and Jay-Z’s “Umbrella” for the joint longest running U.K. No. 1 single by a male and female duo. “Umbrella” also spent 10 weeks at No. 1 in 2007.
Dean also surpasses Olivia Newton-John for the longest running U.K. No. 1 single for a British female artist. Newton-John spent nine weeks at the summit in 1978 with the Grease soundtrack single “You’re the One That I Want.”
“Rein Me In” matches 10-week runs by HUNTR/X’s “Golden” (2025); Dave and Central Cee’s “Sprinter” (2023); Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” (2023); and Harry Styles’ “As It Was” (2022). Alex Warren’s 2025 single “Ordinary” spent 13 weeks at No. 1 and remains the longest running No. 1 of the 2020s.
On this week’s chart, Tame Impala’s “Dracula” rises two places to No. 2, matching its previous peak as the band’s global tour reaches the U.K. Olivia Rodrigo’s “Man I Need” slips to No. 3. Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” climbs nine spots to No. 4. Alex Warren’s “Fever Dream” holds at No. 5.
The Chemical Brothers’ 2015 single “Go” appears in the top 40 for the first time, landing at No. 22 after a synch in the Charlize Theron-starring film Apex. Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Bring Your Love,” the second preview from Madonna’s upcoming Confessions II album, debuts at No. 29.
