Liam Gallagher Responds After Abbey Road Sighting With John Squire Fuels Sequel Talk
Liam Gallagher has responded after he and John Squire were spotted at Abbey Road Studios, fuelling talk of a second album.
Liam Gallagher has addressed reports that he and John Squire were both seen leaving Abbey Road Studios in North London this week, a sighting that quickly set off speculation about another album from the pair.
Gallagher and The Stone Roses guitarist released their first record together, Liam Gallagher John Squire, in March 2024. It was Squire’s first new album in 20 years.
Gallagher was photographed outside the studio on May 6, after posting on X earlier in the day: “IM A SINGER I SING SONGS THATS WHAT I DO”.

At first, some fans wondered if the visit might be tied to a new Oasis album. That talk grew later the same day when Squire was also seen outside the same studio, making a follow-up to the 2024 collaboration look more likely.

When a fan asked him on X why he was there, Gallagher replied: “I can’t tell you what I’m doing for security reasons and the national health service what I can tell you is it’s fucking BIBLICAL”.

Gallagher told NME in 2024 that expectations around the album were high. “People have got high expectations and I’m the same,” he said. “But after all the dust settles… it’s fucking 10 great songs with some great fucking musicians playing it and I’m singing decent.”
He also said soon after the record came out that a second one would be “rude not to”, adding that the first album was “just the starter” and that “if John comes up with another load of songs that are banging, they’ll get it as well.”
NME gave Liam Gallagher John Squire four stars on release, writing that while some listeners may have been thrown by lead single “Just Another Rainbow”, the album itself delivered. The review said it was not on the level of Definitely Maybe or The Stone Roses, but called it “a triumph of style and mood” and said it was “well worthy of their enduring legacies.”
The pair later toured the album across the UK and Ireland. NME also gave their Glasgow show four stars, saying the intimate setting may have been enough for some fans, but that the performance was “masterful and refreshing”. The review added: “if this is a partnership to be continued, they best get started on album two.”
