Van Morrison announces five-night London residency at new British Airways ARC venue

Van Morrison has announced a five-night London residency for this autumn, marking the first run of shows at the new British Airways ARC venue in Olympia.

The Northern Irish singer, songwriter and musician will open the residency on September 23, then return on September 24, 27, 28 and 29. All five concerts will be fully seated.

The residency arrives after the venue’s planned opening on June 16, with Morrison set to become the first artist to hold a residency there. Lucy Noble, SVP UK venues at AEG Presents, said in a statement: “We are thrilled to welcome Van Morrison as the very first artist to have a residency at our brand-new venue. The shows are set to be incredible.”

The London dates follow the release of Morrison’s new album, Somebody Tried To Sell Me A Bridge, which finds him returning to blues and covering songs by B.B. King and Buddy Guy.

Last month, the Moondance singer received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Jazz FM Awards. He is also due to play several festivals later this summer, including Montreux Jazz Festival alongside RAYE, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, PinkPantheress, Lewis Capaldi and others.

Olympia’s British Airways ARC was announced last November as a 3,800-capacity arena. Other acts set to appear there include Self Esteem, McFly, the Zac Brown Band and Khalid.
