DaBaby’s “Pop Dat Thang” reaches No. 1 on Hot Rap Songs and Rap Airplay, marking his first chart-topper since “Rockstar.”

DaBaby is back at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart. “Pop Dat Thang” climbs to the top of the May 16-dated ranking, giving him his first leader on the survey since “Rockstar” in 2020.
The track moves up from No. 2 after posting gains across all three chart components, with help from a remix that adds GloRilla, Yung Miami and YKNIECE. Released via SouthCoast/Interscope/Interscope Capitol, it pushes Don Toliver’s “E85” off the top spot after an 11-week run. “E85” slips to No. 2.
This is DaBaby’s second No. 1 on Hot Rap Songs. His first came with “Rockstar,” featuring Roddy Ricch, which led for nine weeks in June and August 2020.
For the tracking week of May 1-7, “Pop Dat Thang” logged 8 million official streams, 20.1 million in radio airplay audience impressions and a negligible amount of track sales in the United States, according to Luminate. Each figure rose from the previous week, with streaming up 24%, airplay up 7% and sales up 19%. The streaming bump was driven in part by the first-week impact of the remix. The featured artists were added to the track’s billing, though the original version still accounted for most of the song’s activity.
The song also reaches No. 1 on Rap Airplay for the first time, climbing from No. 2. It gives DaBaby his fifth chart-topper on the radio ranking. His previous No. 1s were “Suge,” which led for 15 weeks in 2019, “BOP” for one week in 2020, “Rockstar” for 10 weeks in 2020, and his feature with Lil Baby on Pop Smoke’s “For the Night,” which spent eight weeks at No. 1 in 2021.
On other Billboard charts, “Pop Dat Thang” moves from No. 6 to No. 5 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and jumps from No. 43 to No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also rises from No. 7 to No. 3 on Rhythmic Airplay and holds at No. 3 for a third straight week on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay. That radio support helps lift it from No. 30 to No. 29 on Radio Songs.
The single appears on DaBaby’s Be More Grateful album, released in January. The project debuted at No. 6 on Top Rap Albums, marking his fifth top 10 on that chart.
