Ash announce 30th anniversary reissue of 1977 and international tour

Ash will reissue their debut album 1977 for its 30th anniversary with four bonus tracks, a live STABAL Studios disc, a livestream from Belfast on May 6 and a 2026 tour across Australia, Asia, Europe and the UK.

Ash have announced a 30th anniversary reissue of their debut album 1977, a livestreamed concert tonight and a new international tour for 2026.

The band released 1977 in 1996. The record reached the charts and was certified platinum. It contained singles such as “Girl From Mars”, “Goldfinger”, “Kung Fu” and “Oh Yeah”.

The reissue will be issued on 2LP Green & Black vinyl, a 2CD digisleeve with booklet, and digitally. The package includes the original 12-track album plus four additional recordings: the long-lost “Bittersweet Blue”, a 2026 edition of “Oh Yeah”, a 2026 demo of “Girl From Mars” and an acoustic 2026 mix of “Gone The Dream”. The second disc captures a set recorded at STABAL Studios in 2021, where the band performed 1977 in full alongside era favourites. Pre-orders are available now.

Today, May 6, Ash will present a live streamed concert from Belfast’s Oh Yeah Centre. The show starts at 8pm. Tim Wheeler and the band will perform an intimate acoustic set of material from 1977. BBC Introducing’s Taylor Johnson will host and speak with band members about the songs and their origins. Remaining tickets are listed on the band’s ticketing page.

The anniversary touring schedule spans Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Europe and the UK. The first concert is scheduled for September 4 in Perth. European dates begin November 10 in Utrecht. UK dates run from December 1 in Torquay and close at London’s Roundhouse on December 17. General tickets go on sale May 15, with pre-sale options from May 12. The band are also set to appear at festivals including Download and Isle Of Wight.
