ATARASHII GAKKO!, Awich, Hitsujibungaku and LANA Set for Billboard Japan and Spotify’s Women in Music EQUAL STAGE

Spotify and Billboard Japan will bring Women in Music – EQUAL STAGE to SGC Hall Ariake in Tokyo on June 9, with ATARASHII GAKKO!, Awich, LANA and Hitsujibungaku on the bill. The one-night concert is part of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK.

The event folds together two separate efforts. Billboard Japan’s Women in Music launched in 2022 to highlight women whose work is helping push society forward and to support a more inclusive music landscape. Spotify’s EQUAL program, launched in 2021, works on expanding opportunities for women artists and creators, with ongoing support built into the platform’s wider campaign.

TV Asahi announcer Chie Honma will MC the show.

EQUAL STAGE sits within a wider run of concerts and events taking place during MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK, the lead-up programming to MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN, billed as the country’s largest international awards ceremony. More information about MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK can be found here.
