Converge Share New Single “Doom In Bloom” Ahead of Hum Of Hurt

Converge have released “Doom In Bloom,” the latest preview of their upcoming album Hum Of Hurt, due June 5 via Deathwish, Inc. and Epitaph. The track follows the previously released title song and arrives just months after Love Is Not Enough, the Boston band’s first non-collaborative studio album in nine years.

On “Doom In Bloom,” Converge steer into a dense, off-balance arrangement that emphasizes tension and weight over straightforward momentum. The song’s jagged pacing and low-end churn push it closer to dissonant noise rock and math-leaning hardcore textures, while still retaining the band’s core intensity.

In press materials, vocalist Jacob Bannon said, “It’s dark and pointed right at you. Lyrically, I’m exploring how my own middle-aged introspection doesn’t always bring a brighter light. I see my own trappings reflected in those around me. Here I am imploring them to slip the noose to see another day.”

The single arrives with a new video directed by George Gallardo Kattah.
