Avey Tare and Geologist have shared "Steven’s Sunshine Rejected," the latest single from their new instrumental duo Croz Boyce. Their self-titled debut arrives May 8 on Domino, with a Talk Low Music Festival set planned for September.
Animal Collective members Avey Tare and Geologist continue to expand their orbit with Croz Boyce, their new instrumental duo. A few months after announcing the project and its self-titled debut album, the pair have released another preview: “Steven’s Sunshine Rejected.”
The track follows the previously shared “Hanging Out With A Blueberry Pop,” and stays in a similarly handmade, drifting mode. Longtime Animal Collective listeners will likely recognize the duo’s familiar textural approach, with a softer, nostalgic pull.
The song arrives with a video directed by Joseph Ricketts, built around vivid marine-life imagery and close-up underwater footage.
Croz Boyce is due out May 8 via Domino. The duo is also scheduled to perform at Cleveland’s Talk Low Music Festival in September, with additional live dates expected to be announced.
