The Devil Wears Prada 2 opened May 1 to a $77M domestic debut and lifted several soundtrack tracks. Lady Gaga s Runway jumped to 2.2M streams. Dua Lipa and Madonna also rose. Mac Miller s Cinderella and Karlee Girl s Right Back surged via TikTok and X.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 opened nationwide on May 1 and posted a $77 million domestic debut and $233 million worldwide. It was the year s second biggest opening outside The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and about three times the original film s stateside launch 20 years earlier. The sequel s soundtrack registered immediate streaming gains.
Lady Gaga appears in the film and contributes three original songs, including the previously released collab with Doechii, Runway. Luminate reports that Runway earned nearly 2.2 million official on-demand U.S. streams over the May 1-3 release weekend, up 189 percent from 756,000 the prior weekend.
The sashaying single amassed nearly 2.2 million official on-demand U.S. streams over the release weekend (May 1-3), according to Luminate.
Dua Lipa saw her film-opening track End of an Era rise 207 percent to 138,000 streams the same weekend. Madonna also benefitted: Vogue moved to 493,000 streams, up 30 percent. The original soundtrack recall produced a bump for KT Tunstall s Suddenly I See, which rose from 282,000 to 357,000 streams, a 27 percent increase.
Mac Miller and Ty Dolla $ign returned to the charts when their 2016 collaboration Cinderella entered the Hot Rap Songs top 10 for the first time. The rise has been driven largely by TikTok: the official Cinderella sound has been used in more than 2.2 million clips.
Streaming for Cinderella climbed roughly 146 percent over four weeks. Luminate s weekly totals show the song moved from about 2.43 million U.S. on-demand streams the week of March 26 to April 2, to nearly 6 million streams in the week of April 24 to 30. The Divine Feminine originally reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 when it was released in 2016.
Karlee Girl broke through via social media jokes and a chain of viral posts on X and TikTok. She first shared Right Back in February. In mid April satirical X posts started circulating, and Doechii posted a TikTok singing along on April 19. Karlee shared an acoustic clip on April 22 to mark reaching one million streams. KATSEYE s Sophia and Yoonchae posted a dance to the song on April 27.
The streaming trajectory is clear in weekly Luminate data. For the week of April 3-9 Right Back had 39,000 official on-demand U.S. streams. The following week it jumped to about 185,000 streams, a 370 percent increase. The week of April 17-23, which includes Doechii s clip, streams rose to roughly 747,000, a 302 percent gain. The week of April 24-30 reached about 1.14 million streams, up 53 percent. Over four months the song s streaming activity grew roughly 2,795 percent, and it appears in more than 169,000 TikTok posts.
The weekend s box office and streaming figures show how a major film release can lift both new music and catalog tracks. The data also highlights the continuing role of short-form social platforms in reviving songs from past years and accelerating breakout moments for emerging artists.
