Jon Stewart, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel backed Abbey Romeo on White Stripes covers at Netflix Is A Joke’s Night Of Too Many Stars.
Jon Stewart, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel turned up at the Hollywood Bowl this week to back Abbey Romeo on a pair of White Stripes songs.
Romeo, best known from Netflix’s reality series Love On The Spectrum, appeared Thursday, May 7, at the Night Of Too Many Stars event for the Netflix Is A Joke festival. She fronted a band that included O’Brien on guitar, Stewart on drums and Kimmel on bass clarinet.
Together, they played versions of “Seven Nation Army” and “We’re Going To Be Friends.” Proceeds from the event went to the non-profit organisation NEXT For Autism.
Other guests on the night included Noah Wyle, star of The Pitt, who came out in scrubs as his character Dr. Robby and gave two audience members a live physical exam with a stethoscope.
The Hollywood Bowl bill also featured Adam Sandler, Bill Burr, Steve Carell, Sarah Silverman, Nikki Glaser, John Mulaney and Ali Wong.

Kimmel, Stewart and O’Brien have all been publicly critical of the Donald Trump administration. Earlier this year, Kimmel took aim at the president while presenting an Oscar.
“We hear a lot about courage at shows like this but telling a story that could get you killed for telling it is real courage,” he said. “As you know there are some countries whose leaders don’t support free speech. I’m not at liberty to say which. Let’s just leave it at North Korea and CBS.”
He also jabbed at the recent Amazon Prime Video documentary about Donald Trump’s wife, Melania.
“Fortunately for all of us there’s an international community of filmmakers dedicated to telling the truth, oftentimes at great risk to make films that teach us, that call out injustice, that inspire us to take action, and there are also documentaries where you walk around the White House trying on shoes,” he joked.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! was temporarily suspended by ABC last year after Kimmel accused the MAGA movement of exploiting the murder of Charlie Kirk. Donald Trump celebrated the move. Kimmel was reinstated less than a week later after backlash from the entertainment industry.
