Katy Perry, Future, Lisa and Tyla to Headline U.S. World Cup Opening Ceremony
Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Rema, Anitta and Tyla will headline the U.S. World Cup opening ceremony at SoFi Stadium on June 12.
The first wave of artists for the U.S. World Cup opening ceremony is now set. Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, Lisa, Rema and Tyla will headline the June 12 celebration at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, FIFA confirmed.
The ceremony comes ahead of the United States’ opening match against Paraguay and is part of a larger tournament rollout that will stretch from June 11 to July 19, 2026 across 16 cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States. It is the first time the World Cup will be co-hosted across multiple countries.
FIFA is also staging separate opening ceremonies in Mexico and Toronto the day before the U.S. event, a first for the tournament. In Toronto, the lineup includes Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, Nora Fatei, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince, timed to the opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina at BMO Field.
In Mexico, the ceremony will feature J Balvin, Tyla, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná, Alejandro Fernández, Belinda and Danny Ocean before Mexico faces South Africa on June 11 at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium.
“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement. “The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”
More performers are still to be announced.
The wider tournament build-up has already included other music-linked moments. The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has suggested that nightclubs could screen matches and operate as fan zones during the competition.
Last summer, Robbie Williams released the first official FIFA anthem, Desire, featuring Laura Pausini. Williams co-founded Soccer Aid for UNICEF with Jonathan Wilkes in 2006 and has both played in the charity matches and performed live at the event.
In July, Coldplay, Doja Cat, J Balvin and Tems performed at the FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Chris Martin was previously confirmed to be helping choose the acts for the first-ever World Cup halftime show this year.
