Linda Perry will receive the Ivors Academy’s special international songwriter prize at a ceremony in London on May 21. The award honors her work with 4 Non Blondes and hits written for Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, P!nk and others.

Linda Perry will receive the Ivors Academy’s special international songwriter prize at a ceremony in London on May 21, the academy confirmed.
Perry will collect the trophy at the Grosvenor Hotel. The prize recognizes both her work with 4 Non Blondes and her career as a songwriter for other artists.
Her credits include 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up?”, which reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful”, Gwen Stefani’s “What You Waiting For?” and P!nk’s “Get the Party Started.” She has also written and collaborated with Adele, Ariana Grande and Celine Dion.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for my songwriting contributions at the 71st Ivor Novello Awards. So many incredible artists have been celebrated, and I am humbled to be standing alongside them,” Perry said in a statement.
“Linda Perry’s songwriting continues to have a profound impact on global popular culture. We are proud to honor her with the special international award at The Ivors, celebrating her incredible music and authentic craft,” said Roberto Neri, CEO of the Ivors Academy.
The most recent recipient of the same prize was Brandon Flowers of The Killers. Bruce Springsteen presented that award.
The Ivors Academy confirmed on April 29 that Rosalía will receive the international songwriter of the year award for her 2025 album LUX. The academy said the LP features vocals in 13 languages and draws from classical and pop influences.
Nominations for this year’s Ivor Novello Awards were announced in March. Olivia Dean, Lily Allen, Kae Tempest and Wolf Alice led the list of nominees.
Perry has five Grammy nominations to date. Three of those are in songwriting categories. She was nominated twice for song of the year — for Aguilera’s “Beautiful” and for co-writing the Alicia Keys-Brandi Carlile collaboration “A Beautiful Noise” — and once for best song written for visual media for co-writing Dolly Parton’s “Girl in the Movies.”
The Ivors are determined by a panel of songwriters and composers from the academy’s membership and are awarded annually to recognize songwriting and composing both in the U.K. and internationally.
