Lizzo has announced her new album Bitch, due June 5, and released its title track with a black-and-white video directed by child. The single, produced by Ricky Reed, Blake Slatkin, and Zack Sekoff, samples Missy Elliott and interpolates Meredith Brooks.

Lizzo has officially announced her new album Bitch, set for release on June 5, and shared its title track alongside a black-and-white video directed by child. The rollout follows her recent return to music after a prolonged period shaped by legal disputes and a public reset.
Her comeback began last year with the single “Love in Real Life,” introduced with a “Bye Bitch” message that closed the Special era. After additional singles and a mixtape, she has now centered the new campaign around the word “bitch” as both album title and lead statement.
The new single “Bitch” was produced by Ricky Reed, Blake Slatkin, and Zack Sekoff. The track samples Missy Elliott’s 1999 song “She’s A Bitch” and interpolates Meredith Brooks’ 1997 hit “Bitch.” On the verse, Lizzo sings, “I heard what you saying/ Goddamn, I let it get to me/ You want me to be everything except a human being.”
In a social post, Lizzo also launched what she called “B!TCH summer”, framing the record as a response to how women are labeled for setting boundaries, expressing sexuality, speaking directly, and leading in business.
“This song is dedicated to the women who get called a bitch for having boundaries, for being sexual, for speaking up for themselves, for working hard and owning businesses… If we don’t smile and perform all the time we’re ‘ungrateful’… This WOMANIFESTO is a declaration of independence from the bullsh*t. It’s a B!TCH summer.”
Bitch arrives June 5.
