Pete Davidson jabbed Kanye West during Kevin Hart’s Netflix roast, while Ye watched from the audience in Los Angeles.

Kanye West was in the audience when Pete Davidson went after him during The Roast of Kevin Hart, which streamed live on Netflix on Sunday night, May 10, from The Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Shane Gillis hosted the event, which also featured jokes from Dwayne Johnson, Regina Hall, Katt Williams and Chelsea Handler. Davidson was among the comics on stage, and he used part of his set to reference his long-running feud with West.
Speaking to Tony Hinchcliffe, Davidson said,
“Tony, nothing you say tonight will hurt my feelings. I was in a beef with Kanye, so I’ve taken shots from better gay Nazis.”
TMZ later reported that West was actually at the Forum and sat in the crowd while Davidson made the remarks. The outlet described him as “stone-faced” and “expressionless” during the jokes, but said he reacted more warmly when One Battle After Another star and former Ye collaborator Teyana Taylor came onstage.
Davidson also made a separate Charlie Kirk joke directed at Hinchcliffe. Social clips from the roast circulated online shortly after the event, including posts from May 11, 2026 and May 12, 2026.
The tension between Davidson and West dates back to Davidson’s relationship with Kim Kardashian after her split from Ye. In 2022, West escalated the dispute with the animated video for Eazy, which showed a claymation version of Davidson being kidnapped, buried alive and decapitated.
That video drew criticism from figures including James Gunn and Kaley Cuoco. Davidson later responded publicly, saying, “I’m not gonna let you treat us like this anymore and I’m done being quiet.” He also shared texts with West, ending one exchange by telling him he was “in bed with your wife.”
Netflix’s first live roast was centered on NFL legend Tom Brady in 2024. More recently, Paul McCartney was reported as one of the main targets for the 2026 edition, with Will Smith also said to have been under consideration.
The roast appearance came during another difficult week for West. He lost a copyright infringement trial over the unauthorized use of a sample on an early version of Hurricane, and a jury found him personally liable to pay more than £130,000.
West released his new album Bully in March and has tried to mount a world tour, but several dates have already been canceled in the UK, Switzerland, Poland and France because of his past antisemitic remarks.
