Prisonnier Du Temps, the solo project from Syndrome 81 bassist Jacky Cadiou, has announced a new album, Prendre Le Pouvoir Par La Force, due May 15 via La Vida Es Un Mus Discos. Two songs are out now: La Liberté S’Obtient Par Le Sang and Dernier Regard.

Cadiou introduced Prisonnier Du Temps with 2022’s Comme Un Lion En Cage, blending French oi foundations with colder post-punk and death-rock textures. The new material keeps that core approach but shifts toward a broader punk frame. The project’s Bandcamp notes cite Criminal Damage, Poison Idea, and Tragedy as reference points, and those influences are audible in the distortion-heavy, chant-ready arrangements.

Both advance tracks pair driving oi rhythms with melodic hooks, including acoustic guitar layers and group backing vocals that push the songs toward new wave structure without leaving punk behind. The result is direct and forceful, with choruses built for singalongs.
