The Rolling Stones have announced their new album Foreign Tongues, due 7/10 via Capitol, and shared the lead single “In The Stars,” with Andrew Watt returning as producer.

The Rolling Stones have officially announced a new album, Foreign Tongues, and released its lead single, “In The Stars,” following several weeks of teasers and Ronnie Wood’s earlier confirmation that a full project was complete.
The band’s previous LP, 2023’s Hackney Diamonds, marked their first set of original material in 18 years and their first studio album since drummer Charlie Watts’ death. Producer Andrew Watt, who worked on Hackney Diamonds, returns for Foreign Tongues, due in July via Capitol. The album artwork is by Nathaniel Mary Quinn. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood are scheduled to appear at an album launch event in Brooklyn this afternoon.
Jagger said of the sessions: “I love doing these recording sessions in London at Metropolis. It was a very intense few weeks recording Foreign Tongues. We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could. I like the room there as it’s not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.”
Richards added: “The Foreign Tongues album has a continuity from Hackney Diamonds and it was great to be working in London again, and to have that London vibe around us. It was a month of concentrated punch. To me, it’s all about the enjoyment of it. I’m blessed to be able to do this and long may it last.”
Wood said: “The atmosphere in the room was so creative, and the whole band was on top form throughout the whole process. Very often we nailed it on the first take. I hope everyone loves it.”
On Record Store Day, the group released the advance track “Rough And Twisted” under the pseudonym the Cockroaches. “In The Stars” now arrives as the official first single from the new album.
Foreign Tongues is out 7/10 on Capitol.
