Vorhex Angel Announce Album Drain, Share Single “Okie’s Song I”

Vorhex Angel — the trio of brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall and Kunal Prakash — announced their second album, Drain, due 7/8 via Soul Selects, and issued the single Okie’s Song I.

The Orrall brothers previously led JEFF The Brotherhood. Vorhex Angel formed in 2024 with Prakash, known for his work with Silver Synthetic. Early live clips circulated this year showed a loud, trio setup. The new single is quieter.

Okie’s Song I is a slow rock number built around a prominent guitar solo. Jake Orrall called it “the most composed of the songs on Drain.” He added, “The lyrics are about the frustration of being caught in a negative pattern, a feedback loop. I remember getting chills hearing Kunal’s solo in playback.”

“I had this group of chords around for a long time and played it with lots of approaches but never shared it live or on a record,”

Prakash said. “I always had a feeling the best way to use it would be with Jake and Jamin when the time was right.”

A video for the song directed by Rett Rogers accompanies the release and includes both new live footage and a stream of the band’s January debut, Heavenly. The band also posted a live clip a few months back that emphasized their louder set-up; the single highlights restraint and a longer melodic passage from Prakash.
